05/15/2013

Marlborough, MA—DMT Diamond Machining Technology is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the 2013-2014 season of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac, the most watched woodworking program on television. Produced in Boston by WGBH TV, Rough Cut is seen on public television stations across the U.S. and, in 2012, had the largest rating/audience share of the nation’s four televised woodworking programs.

"Tommy is a top-notch woodworker, and his program appeals to those who are serious craftsmen and those who are casual, weekend woodworkers. DMT’s line of diamond sharpening stones are the best in class, preferred by legions of woodworkers worldwide, so we thought it was a good fit to align our name and reputation with Rough Cut," said Mark Brandon, president of DMT.

As a sponsor of the program, DMT is the exclusive provider of sharpening equipment for Rough Cut. DMT is providing several of its iconic polka-dot patterned diamond sharpening stones for MacDonald’s wood shop in Canton, Mass. where the programs are taped. These sharpening stones may be used during the program when sharpening a tool is part of the project Tommy is working on.

In addition, DMT will be mentioned in the beginning and end of each program as a sponsor, and will be listed on the program’s website.

"Our sponsors are critical to the success of our program. We are thrilled that a company like DMT, with its reputation for excellence, has chosen to join our sponsors for this season," said Laurie Donnelly, executive producer of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac.

Since 1976, DMT has proudly manufactured all its products at its Marlborough, Mass. facility. These Made in the USA products feature superior diamond coverage and uniformity combined with unrivaled flatness. DMT sharpeners feature the most diamond per square inch in the industry and a proprietary process that ensures near-perfect consistency in grit size, and they are engineered to be the flattest sharpeners on the market. The iconic polka-dot surface pattern self-cleans while sharpening to ensure continuous edge contact. This surface, innovated by DMT, is often imitated in appearance, but never equaled in quality or function.
