Diamond Machining Technology (DMT) has announced it has adopted Westborough,
Massachusetts’ Ashley Hayden, as part of the USA Luge “Adopt-an-Athlete” program.
As a long-time backer of USA Luge, DMT is broadening its efforts this year by providing financial
support earmarked to assist Ms. Hayden with living, travel and training expenses. DMT’s contribution
will enable the reigning World Cup bronze medal winner to focus her attention on preparing for the
2006 Olympics.
“We are incredibly pleased to adopt Ashley and support her upcoming 2005-06 racing season as a
senior national USA Luge member,” noted Mark Brandon, president of DMT. “By adopting Hayden, DMT
not only aids in her future successes but strengthens its commitment to USA Luge and the Olympic Team.”
Recently named 2005 Female Athlete of the Year by USA Luge, Hayden received her first individual
bronze medal at the 2005 World Cup Finale in Winterberg, Germany. Her other achievements include a
fourth place finish at the 38th World Luge Championships in Park City, Utah, a bronze medal finish
at the 2004 Verizon North American championships and a silver medal result at the season-ending
2005 Verizon U.S. national championships.
