Elizabeth P. Powell, Chair and Treasurer of Diamond Machining Technology,
announced the acquisition of the company by Vogel Capital, Inc., owned by Mark and Stacey Brandon
of Sherborn, MA. Co-founders, David and Elizabeth Powell, will remain as consultants for two years
to assure a seamless transition for Mark and the DMT® Team.
In 2005, DMT marks its 29th year as the leading innovator of manual diamond sharpening technology
for people and industries depending upon performance edges in the U.S.A. and worldwide. DMT was
founded in 1976 by Elizabeth and David Powell and is one of America’s true entrepreneurial success
stories.
Mark Brandon had been searching for a quality manufacturing firm to acquire since leaving his 8-year
presidency of Tyco Adhesives in 2003. He has over 23 years experience in general management,
sales/marketing and operating positions. Brandon has led firms that have produced plastic, metal and
chemical products. His goal is to maintain the high levels of innovative product, quality and customer
service that have been the benchmarks of DMT’s brands and to market them aggressively.

In making the announcement, Elizabeth Powell said, “I will miss being ‘Diamond Lil’ and all my
friends in the many markets DMT serves, but I am delighted to have found a new owner with experience,
energy and vision to lead DMT.”
