With its new Aligner Pro Kit, DMT is introducing a redesigned Made in the USA system that offers the unrivaled performance of the best diamond whetstones combined with the finest guided sharpening components, which together extend the life and beauty of all kinds of knives.
The Aligner Pro Kit’s blade guide and clamp are made of glass-reinforced engineering polymer, a design choice DMT made specifically to prevent any scratching or marring of knives. The kit components can be used to sharpen ceramic knives as well as newer technology high-alloy steels, which conventional abrasives cannot handle. Three included 4-inch diamond sharpening stones (Coarse diamond [45 micron / 325 mesh], Fine diamond [25 micron / 600 mesh], Extra-Fine diamond [9 micron / 1200 mesh]) are wider than the stones in most other kits, enabling the sharpening of any length blade while increasing stability and reducing the likelihood of rocking the stone on the knife. Like all DMT diamond sharpeners, the included stones feature precisely micronized single crystal diamonds in the company’s signature polka dot pattern. The non-scratch blade guide easily facilitates sharpening at seven different angles to match virtually any bevel. What’s more, the multi-adjustable hinge clamp accommodates blades up to 3/8-inch thick, and the blade stop on the clamp ensures repeatable knife-holding placement.
The Aligner Pro Kit gives consumers complete confidence in their angle control and accuracy, combined with DMT’s superior sharpening capabilities. It also now features a rugged molded carrying case to neatly and securely store all contents, and since the kit is completely self-contained—requiring no additional plastic packaging—it is a greener choice, too. It is smaller in size than any competitor’s kits and can stand upright on a shelf or hang by its integral handle for convenient retail display and consumer storage. Also included in the kit are a Fine diamond-serrated knife sharpening attachment, a secure stone holder and easy-to-follow instructions.
